Day #2 was a much longer day! I did not ride into Port Townsend until 5pm. It started with a beautiful ride first up the mountain and then a really nice downhill. My Garmin missed the trailhead for the Olympic Discovery Trail that was at the top of the hill and took me on a 10 mile ride down the highway to another entrance. I had a difficult time, but finally found the entrance, but soon found I was heading in the wrong direction. Gratefully another biker stopped to ask a question and pointed me in the right direction. This was only the first of about 3 times I found myself lost on the route today.

All in all a lot more highway riding today. But also, some beautiful trail along the ocean as well. I finished the day with a 500 foot climb up a two lane road with no shoulder and a nice ditch to my right into Port Townsend. But I lived to tell about it!
As soon as I arrived in Port Townsend we got in the line for the Ferry to Whidbey Island where we spend the night. We stayed in a hospital parking lot, no campgrounds on the South part of the Island.
