Montana is certainly a beautiful state, I especially enjoyed as I rode mile after mile of the Clark Fork River, with its serene beauty. It reminds me of the creativity, beauty and goodness of God’s character. The amazing design of our home planet earth can only be explained by the loving existence of our creator.

With the attention to detail we see in nature at times we are still reminded of human nature and imperfections. As I was navigating The Great American Rail Trail today, I was only a few miles from Alberton, MT where I was to be meeting Mary-Beth to refill my water & electrolyte stores for the remainder of the ride to Missoula. Unfortunately as I was following my GPS and trying to turn right onto the final section of trail to my destination, I saw the “No Trespassing” sign next to the vinyl banner.

These are the key words on the vinyl banner that say everything, “this ranch road is not a public trail or right of way-regardless of what hiking, biking or GPS mapping may show.”

Sometimes even when we are following a map or the instructions given to us, we still end up at a dead end. When this happened to me today on my ride, there were only a few options to get to where I needed to go and none of them were good options. Only bad options for me to choose,

What do you do when you face a situation in life where there are no good options? I had some time to think about this one today, and I was reminded that this is the way life often goes, much of life is lived under less than ideal circumstances.

I was reminded of the importance of bringing our circumstances to God in prayer, seek wise counsel and then make the best decision we can with available information & resources.
