Day #18 Biking Across America – Fishing Bridge, Yellowstone Park to Cody Wyoming – 77 Miles

Wow! Today was the most amazing day of biking I have ever had! We left our campsite in Yellowstone early this morning and I started the climb to 8,500 feet at Sylvan Pass. A friend had told me that the road to the East gate of Yellowstone is considered one of the most scenic drives in all of America. After today, I would agree with him. It was only about 41 degrees when I started out and the wind was really blowing around Yellowstone Lake.

When I got to the top, it was quite exhilarating! The view, the achievement, the anticipation of the downhill ride!

Mary-Beth met me at the top and as I began to roll downhill she gave me a great gift. She rode behind me with her emergency flashers on to keep cars from approaching me too fast. I would hit the turnouts and she would pull in to let cars by, but for the most part I had the road to myself.

It was an exhilerating ride! My speed got up just under 40 mph, the beauty of the scenery was breathtaking and my Time Race bike was running like a well oiled machine. It was truly an amazing day!

I arrived in Cody about 4pm completely grateful to God for the gift of the day. Thanks for joining us on the journey!
