After riding 90 miles today I felt like I deserved a chocolate chip cookie, so Mary-Beth baked up some Toll House cookies in the cast iron skillet in the over. With a cold glass of milk boy were they were a delicious after dinner snack.

The first 15 miles of my ride this morning was through Wind River Canyon. The morning was cool and crisp and the granite canyon walls were spectacular in the morning light. The sound of the rushing water could be heard in the quiet moments when no cars passed, it was a sacred moment.

The only stress on this part of the ride were the 3 tunnels. Tunnels always make me nervous, because there is usually no bike lane and you never know who is going follow you in. Gratefully the 3 tunnels were short, so I could see from end to end.

As I approached the 3rd tunnel I could see a semi truck waiting to enter carrying a wide load. His lead driver saw me and held the truck until I could get through the tunnel, I was very grateful.

Today’s ride was an interesting one. My first stop was in a little town where I met up with Mary-Beth at a gas station, and there would not be another place to get gas or water or food for 108 miles. Thus the reason for the 90 mile day. Felt great today, I even thought to myself, 90 miles, not bad for a guy turning 64 on Saturday.
