Day #24 Biking Across America – Harrison to Rushville, Nebraska – 83 Miles

After a great rest day in Harrison, Nebraska, Mary-Beth and I were up early after a night of thunderstorms, rain and wind. As I went outside to get my bike ready there was a layer of fog over the park where we were staying. The rain and wind had stopped and I thought to myself, “this is going to be an interesting morning.’

Of course Mary-Beth made me an amazing breakfast to fuel me for the morning. We attended a potluck yesterday afternoon at Harrison Bible Church, and enjoyed getting to know the Pastor and his wife He was telling me that about 20 miles east of Harrison there is a canyon that would drop me 1,200 feet into Fort Robinson and Crawford along Highway 20.

After Saturday’s ride I was praying for wind at my back or no wind at all. God was gracious, and gave me wind at my back almost all day, except the last 9 miles into Rushville where I had a crosswind.

All in all, it was a beautiful day, great weather, wind at my back, no rain and unique and beautiful scenery. Thanks for joining us on the journey!
