I am not the only one! Today Mary-Beth and I did our mid day meet up in Merriman, Nebraska at the Village Park. As I was getting off of my bike, up rode another biker. His name is Sean, he is from Seattle, and left La Push Beach in Washington a week before me. He is headed for Virgina to see his grandfather and we are on approximately the same route. Although he is only riding 40-50 miles per day and I am moving at a much faster pace. He is staying in motels and camping occasionally.

It was really encouraging to see another person on the same journey. We were both laughing at the amount of uphill we had ridden today and that we thought Nebraska was flat, not like a crazy roller coaster!

The area we were riding through today is called the Sand Hills and it is a series of up and down elevations that will continue tomorrow as we move through Valentine and toward Lincoln on the weekend.
I was told that this part of Nebraska has some of the largest cattle ranches in the country. From all the cows I have seen, I would not doubt it. Being here has really changed my impressions of Nebraska for sure.

Thanks for joining us on the journey!
