Did you know they have wineries in Nebraska? We did not, and did not even realize they could grow grapes here. Harvest Hosts is a group of businesses, Churches, Wineries etc. that allow you to camp inexpensively on their property and usually with hookups for Rv’s.
Last night we stayed at Niobrara Valley Vinyards, In Nenzel, Nebraska, a small winery with 4 acres of grapes and a very quiet campground. A wine tasting comes with the stay and we learned the history of wine growing in Nebraska. Really interesting & fun!

Today’s ride was 84 miles and under difficult conditions, mainly rain & a strong head wind. We also rode into Central time so we lost an hour from the day.
About 30 miles in I picked up The Cowboy Trail, the first time I have been on a bike path since I left Idaho. It was really nice to be off Hwy 20 and away from the traffic, especially the Semi trucks.

I came across this little guy on the cowboy trail just hanging out in the middle of the path. I thought about bringing him in my bag to surprise Mary-Beth but decided that was not a good idea, I’m pretty sure he is about where I left him, didn’t want him slowing down my pace.
Thanks for joining us on the journey!
