Well, today was our first day with real rainy weather. We woke up to raindrops on the roof and raindrops kept falling on my head throughout most of the day. Because of the rain, I decided I was going to ride the dirt roads and skip Hwy 6. I didn’t want to get power washed by a passing truck and it seemed to be a little safer.
The rain was coming down pretty hard and it made the gravel & dirt roads with the rolling hills a tough, messy morning. Iowa City was our meeting place today and I really enjoyed the bike trails in town.
Tonight we are staying at a Harvest Host farm in Wilton, Iowa. It’s a fun spot for us, they have all kinds of farm animals; Pigs, goats, sheep, cats, chickens, Peacocks and a big pyrenees Dog named Hank.
