Once again a beautiful Fall day, sun shine and blue skies. It made for a spectacular ride through the canopy of trees on the Illinois & Michigan Canal Trail as the light shone through creating a show of light & color. I rode the entire day on the canal trail except for about 10 minutes when the GPS tried to take me onto the streets, but I turned back to the trail because I knew it would take me to Joliet my stoppingI point.
I saw more people than I usually do on the trail today, walkers, runners and bikers. Everyone was wanting to take in the early Fall weather. From Joliet I went East on the Plank Trail, a wonderfully paved trail, I made it to New Lenox and called it a day.
We had hoped to camp with a Harvest Host who has a farm, but as it turns out, they were full, so we ended up with the closest thing to us, the camp ground on the freeway. Not a great spot, but it will do for the night. Tomorrow we head to Indiana, and it looks like it will be in the rain.
